Traffic Rally is a driving game built around navigating busy roads while completing different objectives depending on the selected mode. There is no traditional story with characters, dialogue, or narrative chapters. Instead, progression comes from completing driving challenges, earning money, unlocking new cars, and opening additional environments. The game includes highway, city, and desert routes, along with different times of day and one-way or two-way traffic options.
Control the Car Through Traffic
Players accelerate with W or the Up Arrow, brake or reverse with S or the Down Arrow, and steer with A/D or the Left and Right Arrow keys. E flashes the headlights, C changes the camera, and F can activate nitrous when available. The main challenge is reading the traffic ahead and moving through gaps without hitting another vehicle. Close overtakes can provide extra rewards, while poor steering at high speed can end a run quickly.
Choose Between Four Modes
Traffic Rally includes four main game modes, each built around a different objective. Career provides structured progression, while the other modes focus on distance, time, or unrestricted driving.
Players can choose:
- Career Mode with 80 progressively harder levels;
- Infinite Mode for driving as far as possible;
- Time Against Mode with countdown-based objectives;
- Free Mode without fixed missions or a time limit;
- one-way or two-way traffic on supported routes;
- different road environments and driving conditions.
Career Mode is the closest thing to a conventional level system. Its 80 missions increase in difficulty and can require the player to reach a destination, maintain speed, overtake vehicles, or complete other traffic-based objectives.
Money earned from successful runs can be spent in the garage. Traffic Rally includes more than 20 unlockable cars, with different performance characteristics such as speed, braking, and acceleration. Players can also change visual details on some vehicles, including paint and wheel colors, giving the garage a role beyond simple progression.
Improve Speed and Control
Progress in Traffic Rally depends on balancing speed with safe positioning. Driving faster can improve mission results and distance records, but denser traffic gives the player less time to react. Learning when to accelerate, when to brake, and when to wait for a better gap becomes increasingly important in later Career levels. Better cars help, but successful runs still depend on smooth steering, traffic awareness, and avoiding unnecessary collisions.
